Welcome and Thank you for stopping by!

This site is a conglomeration of things kid, parent, family, chaos, health, and sanity related!

My name is Carrie and I live in Lindenhurst, Illinois. I am a Missionary Pastor’s Kid (MPK), and spent the first 13 years of my life in Africa. I have a background in psychology and social work, and got my MSW just before our twins were born 3 months prematurely. Prior to having kids, I worked in a variety of social service settings, and worked mainly with people who had special needs. I am blessed to be the mama of four incredible kids, all of whom have some type of special needs, including Tourette Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), mood disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It can be chaotic in our family, but the chaos makes us cherish each joyful moment even more.

I hope this gives you a glimpse at life through a different lens, empowers you, makes you laugh, maybe even cry, but mostly I hope it brings a sense of peace, love, and knowledge.

Reiki is a Japanese hands-on method of natural healing that activates, balances, and increases the life force within us by using our body’s natural ability to heal itself.

I’ve always loved books. They have been an escape for me, a comfort, a resource in times of chaos. These are some of books I cherish, adore, and can’t put down.
